A Droplet of Rainbow

It's been showering heavily today [23 May 2013]. The plants outside contained a multitude of droplets at the foliage tips. Upon close inspection, this one caught my attention. So, a macro of it did the magic. The light from the flash unit dispersed to form a beautiful spectrum.

Strobist Info: Nikon SB-700 flash unit fired in CLS mode at FP1/40 from camera left.

[2013: Week 21/52]

A low angle shot looking towards a highland cow that was grazing below the level of the roadside during my trip today. I wasn't sure how this would turn out, as I wasn't able to look through the viewfinder to compose it, but I'm happy enough with the result.

Not had time to be out with the camera this week so this is a shot taken at home to make sure I complete the 52/13 challenge. The pansies are in my window boxes on my balcony. This year they flowered all winter then suddenly, about 4 weeks ago, took off and have put out hundreds of gorgeous blooms. Just about finished now in time for the summer plants but still looking very colourful!

This was a surprisingly difficult image to capture; it just wouldn't sit still for long. However, I'm reasonably pleased with this shot.

Out in the garden with the sun shining, so I was looking for colour. This was taken with my Chinon 50mm 1.7 lens with a Raynox DCR 150 attached. I've got a few at 1.7,2 and 2.8 but this one at f/4 was by far the best.
The only pp is a High Pass Filter set at 4 to give a slight sharpening. I did think of cropping in tight but thought better of it and left it as it was. The high ISO was to allow for the high shutter speed. This was due to the wind having got up again.
