Amnesty International Australia have created this life-size replica of a Guantanamo Bay prison cell. Australian David Hicks has been held there for five years without trial. It is only in last month that he has even been charged with anything. Amnesty are campaigning for David Hicks to be brought back to Australia to face a fair trial. The proceedings under which he is to be tried in Guantanamo Bay are in breach of the Universal Declaraton of Human Rights.
Working as an Account Director at Pareto Fundraising I have been leading a team of agencies to develop this cell, and the supporting marketing campaign around it - which includes being able to sign an electronic petition for David Hicks to be brought home, right outside the cell.
