Cycle #4 - At the Ballgame

It might be a bit of a stretch to submit this video for the weekly challenge of "cycle". But there are cycles of action during a ballgame. During this particular cycle when a new pitcher was coming in, Johnny Cash's song "Ring of Fire" was played, so I thought it would be interesting to make a short video to demonstrate the sounds of a ballpark.

It was a beautiful summer day at the park, warm and breezy. A large number of sailors from the various teams that will be competing in the America's Cup Races on the Bay were in the rows in front of us. I wonder if the muscular men from the Italian team (sponsored by Prada) even know the rules of American baseball.... they sure enjoyed the food and beer and weather though :)

You can see the Oracle sailboat parked in McCovey Cove just beyond the right field foul pole; I guess those sailors sailed to the ballpark.

After hanging out with a friend for an hour today without finding anything to interesting, I began looking for someone who looked like they had a story to tell. While walking up State towards the top of the square I was stopped a red light I heard the sound of a basketball on the pavement. When I looked over I saw this couple conversing, and before I knew it the light had turned green and she was jumping onto his back. Continuing to dribble the ball as he crossed I knew this was my moment, I walked a little faster to get in front of them to offer to click a photo. People rushed around them to get through the intersection before the light turned green for traffic (as this particular intersection has a notoriously short light). Smiles and all, they were happy to pose for a photo although it took me a couple tries to get it right as the male didn't like his smile in the first photo I took (as well as a requested photo with a cellular device. I didn't get any names but told them where they would be able to find the photo online, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed they find this image and request a copy.
