Now fenced off & Soon to be Demolished, This Beautiful structure is/was known as the Brewer Funeral Home. Located at 3603 Ross Ave in the East section of Dallas Texas. Closed..
Wednesday, (May 1 2013), the City of Dallas has ok'd the demolition of this gorgeous building! Midwest Wrecking Co. of Texas will be handling the job.
Whats needed here? More Apartments? Sure, ok.. I, personally think if anything, convert this structure into Apts then.. Nothing wrong with that..
Never-the-less, its almost 100% sure that this place will be gone by the end of May (2013).. SAD indeed!
Dcad.org shows this structure was built Circa:. 1929..
To Note, Also in this photo is Woodard Paint & Body Shop. Woodard Paint & Body Shop structure(s) are already in the process if being razed. All is to be cleared for some Apartments..

This Retail strip is located at 3302 thru 3310 Swiss Circle, Dallas Texas. Closed. At one time, a section of this strip was home to Hargrove's Cafe, where Bonnie Parker once worked as a Waitress..

Globe Theatre - Bertram Tx Closed

The Globe Theatre, located at 132 W Vaughan Street in Bertram Texas. Closed..
Built in 1935, this little Theatre had the seating capacity of apprx. 340.
It was built by The Bertram Amusement Company..
From around 1943, when it was sold, to the Mid 80's, this Theatre was ran by a small variety of owners.
Purchased by new owners around 2009, it is set to be renovated & reopened! .. The inside/interior has been started on. The owners stated back in April of 2012, they're over half way on the restoration!! Yea!!!
The Globe Theatre is on Facebook with a few interior shots!! ..

Snuffers Restaurant & Bar, located at 3526 Greenville Ave, Dallas Texas. Demolished..
has been demolished today (4-17-13).. JR's Demolition & Excavation crew leveled the structure this morning.
Per: Mr Snuffer himself, from what he understands,
This was at one time, (possibly) a Hardware place. It was also (possibly) a Piano Business.
The original structure, far right (noted on photo) was built Circa:. 1946..
And to note, left over bricks from the Granada Theatre were used on the front of the original (Snuffers) structure.. *As noted on photo*..
The Wooden part of the structure, i.e. the patio etc., (also noted on photo) was added around 1986.
This was (also) a Sinclair Gas Station back when. By looking at aerial photos back in 1956 to 1979, confirms that a Gas Station was originally on the lot..

What once was a Sonic Drive In has since closed.. Located on (Hwy 78) N Center St, in between 6th & 7th.. This location has been closed for a short while.
A newer location is open at 1735 Texas 121 in Bonham Texas..
Opening & Closing dates are unknown at this time (April 2013)..

Charles (Charlie) Henry Christian Buriel Plot, located in Bonham Texas.
The Texas Historical Plaque states:
"As a child, Bonham (Tx) native Charles (Charlie) Christian was exposed to the Guitar artistry & soprano solos of his parents Clarence & Willie Mae Christian. Though taught in the Guitar chord technique, he developed a uniqe single-string style that made his reputation & earned him a place in music great Benny Goodman's band in 1939. A Jazz Guitar prodigy, he played with Goodman, Count Basie, & at Carnegie Hall before dying of Tuberculosus at the age of 25."
(Recorded 1994)
There is a dispute of the location of his grave..

Elite Theatre, located on the North side of Downtown Bonham Tx., at 117 5th Street.. Closed..
Opening back In October of 1939, this was a very small Theatre but showed 1st run movies.. After suffering from a Fire in 1952, The Elite never reopened..

The Marquee is the only thing left standing of this Drive In Theatre. Closed sometime in the mid 1980's, this Drive In was opened sometime in the early to mid 1950's..

Altho there's not much to see here now, back in the early 1950's thru the 1970's this lot was home to the Kiest Blvd Drive In Theatre.. Its car capacity was 1,000.. This is/was located at 3100 E Kiest Blvd @ Southerland Ave, in the Oak Cliff section of Dallas Texas..
The Drive In was closed & demolished sometime after 1979..
