I Googled up LaVerna... her name is written in the concrete cap of the storm shelter at the old school. The internet is so amazing, in a few keystrokes, I learned she graduated from Hennessy HS in 1919 and passed in 1983.

She's buried in the Hennessy, OK cemetery.... But she lives on at the little schoolhouse out in the country.

The school house had the pump with basin in front, a tall pole that once spun with a merry-go-round and a storm shelter. It had a small room by the awning door, probably for the "teacherage" to bunk in. Still has chalkboards, chimney and the stove in place.

I ran across four places stacked with hives. In all my years in Oklahoma, never seen this activity. Hives are usually brought in to fertilize berry crops.

Possibly the canola needs bees ???
