On a whim I ran up to the church sale on my street and came away with a box full of these quilt squares for just $2. The woman that sold them to me told me they were from her 94 year old friend who just stopped quilting and donated all her sewing supplies to the sale. My favorite part is her cardboard template.

I'm still doing the pattern portion of this shawl, and have one big section to go before I hit the beads. I think I'm going to pre-string so I can float them on the YOs, but the prospect of putting 5,000 is a bit daunting, I may still change my mind about that. Also, yarn with silk in it is the bees knees, officially.

I'm still edging this thing, and it feels like I will be forever. I have at least three rows to go, and I'm pretty sure I don't have enough yarn. Of course.

I love this one so far so much, but will need more yarn as I don't have as much palette as I'd thought - it's funny how much yarn I have and I still never have the right yarn to finish anything...

I finally finished the grid and can start filling it in. I tried to add a few different borders but couldn't find one I liked, but will maybe add matting instead.

I've slowed down quite a bit on these blocks lately trying to make some progress on other projects, but they're still as fun as ever and I hope to get back to them more seriously soon.

I saw this in the KnitPicks catalog and had to have it. I think it might take forever to finish, even if I didn't have another more giant blanket in progress, but I think it'll be worth it in the end for sure.

I resisted this for a long time but finally gave in and started it. The edging is insane, and I'm still not done, I'm pretty sure it's going to be totally worth it in the end though.

This one called for some green parts towards the top but it looked weird, the only downside of this project is that you can't make any changes to the designs once they're ironed. I like the off white on this one quite a bit though.

The curvy bits on this one were pretty annoying, but I think it was totally worth it in the end.

I used 5 colors on this one which seemed insane after so many with only 3. I hope it doesn't end up standing out too much against the others--
