3 bunny friends

My small collection of vintage German Marolin Bunny candy containers. They are all looking in direction of the window as excited for warm Spring weather to arrive this week as I am. The right one is over 100 years old and it really shows. The middle one is from the 40ies and the right one from the 80ies. I found them on flea and antique markets here in Germany and hope to grow my collection some more, cause I love bunnies, especially vintage ones of course!
A little histoy: Richard Mahr and his family in Thuringia, Germany founded the company for papier maché toys in 1900 and the family business is still going strong today www.marolin.de/ over 110 years later!

Black silhouettes on old white transom door

I hung the round domed glass silhouette from Sue (I showed a close up of it in my next photo here on the stream) with the silver soldered scalloped frame I made for it on my old transom door and doesn't it match just fabulously with my collection of silhouettes of children? Just one missing in the upper right corner to replace the two cardboard silhouettes, than this collection will be perfect. All 5 of the black framed silhouettes are real vintage cut out ones btw.

Sweet Paula has totally spoiled me and sent me a huge friendship parcel and I'm loving every bit of it! I had difficulties getting it all in one picture. Can you believe it, so many gorgeous handmade treasures and beauttiful finds and everything in my favorite neutral color palette! It was quite overwhelming to unwrap all these lovely gifts from the heart.
Thank you so so much dear angel friend for bringing me so much joy!
I hope your parcels will arrive at your door steps very soon too!!!

Love at first sight! Just yesterday I watched the wonderful romantic German 2010 movie Goethe! It played around the same year which is noted on the cup. And with my love for silhouettes can you imagine how happy I was when I spied it today?

My lucky finds from today's indoor antique market. The old paper maché bunny has no more eyes and no front paws but he spoke to me and just had to come home with me.

I always need that closer look, don't you? So I left the picture in the original size, because I know that I'm always disappointed when I can't see a picture big enough to discover all the details. I especially like the rusty and chippy door handle from my antique transom window door. Most of the things in this picture are flea market finds.

Living room corner rearranged again

This is my favorite corner in the living room to decorate and rearrange. If you follow my blog or my flickr album you will sure remember it. I have now put my over 100 years old door in the back where I had an old wooden transom window before - see here: www.flickr.com/photos/boxwoodcottage/5184018210/in/pool-4... and before that an old iron window - see here: www.flickr.com/photos/boxwoodcottage/4149568590/in/set-72... and before that a shutter and so on lol and I also did some more changes for a fresh look. I think it's important to change things ever so often for a fresh look, at least my eyes and soul really needs it. It's a corner of curiosities so to speak.

A couple of weeks ago dear Sue aka "Arlies girl" asked me for my address because she had found something that she thought I would like and wanted to send it to me.
She very kindly sent me a package with this sweet silhouette picture under domed glass. The picture was taped to the glass and had no more frame so I decided to solder a frame around it, which I finally got around to do last weekend and yesterday I took these photos.
It's so springy with the girls in their pretty dresses picking flowers on a meadow and it makes me happy just to look at it! :)
I'm totally lovin it Sue thank you so much again my dear flickr friend!

in my parlor are a sure sign of Spring for me! I buy myself a fresh bouquet every week from the beginning of February and can't wait for my Angelique tulips in the garden to bloom again. So far snowdrops and crocusses are in bloom outside, it's still early Spring and after the calendar even still Winter for another 2 weeks EEK!
