We crossed I-70 in Colorado this morning and it was a pleasant drive. - no snow = no chains.

Our snow & ski report:
Brekenridge - dry, no snow
Avon - dry, no snow
Vail - dry, no snow
Copper Mountain - making there own!

Mt. Shasta is the second most southerly mountain in the Cascade Range and acts like a divide between northeastern and northwestern California. Snowcapped Mt. Shasta stands 14,162 feet in elevation, alone and massive in size, isolating itself from the rugged peaks that surround it.

I received numerous flckr mails about the original of this photo. There really isn't anything I can do to enhance it - you are more than welcome to try. I feathered the edges and added a small white border.

This was taken on US-26 west heading downhill. Mt. Hood was behind us as we went down the Mountain.

Mount Hood (45.4N, 121.7W) is the tallest mountain in Oregon (11,237 feet, 3,426 m) and popular with skiers, hikers, and climbers. It is 45 miles (75 km) east-southeast of Portland, Oregon.

Hello Everyone,

To my friends, human and herps, I am stuck in a motel again. Sometimes I have to wonder if I could get farther on my own; even with me blind I could probably cover more miles (do they have motel reward clubs for pets? Herp Discrimination).

You know what happens when I get stuck in a motel and they get bored – so, here is my new picture. Dial Body Wash is not my choice but we all need to make considerations sometimes – right? My TURTLE WAX remains in the truck but they did go to PetSmart and purchased some wax worms and I have them on ice!

As far as Dial, it’s tolerable – They call it “Maintenance For Your Mansuit” but I’m a female………….However, it's better then having my picture taken with a Shiner Bock - it's also on ice with my dinner!

Did you know?
1. Box turtle's shells are not completely hardened until they reach 7 years of age.
2. Box turtles commonly live to be 30 years old and can probably live much longer than that.

Lewisia Cotyledon is one variety of the genus Lewisia, which grow throughout parts of western North America. Lewisia Cotyledon is native to parts of Northern California and Southern Oregon. A wonderful little plant when in bloom - very attractive little flowers in pink, orange, red, or yellow colors and often striped. Leaves are succulent in appearance and form a small rosette.

This is the only one in bloom and it is it's natural color (no post processing).

Wilson Arch has a span of 91 feet and height of 46 feet, and is located about 24 miles south of Moab, Utah on US 191. The arch is visible from the road. There is a pulloff on the east with interpretive signs.

According to the sign at the pulloff near the arch: "Wilson Arch was named after Joe Wilson, a local pioneer who had a cabin nearby in Dry Valley. This formation is known as Entrada Sandstone. Over time superficial cracks, joints, and folds of these layers were saturated with water. Ice formed in the fissures, melted under extreme desert heat, and winds cleaned out the loose particles. A series of free-standing fins remained. Wind and water attacked these fins until, in some, cementing material gave way and chunks of rock tumbled out. Many damaged fins collapsed like the one to the right of Wilson Arch. Others, with the right degree of hardness survived despite their missing middles like Wilson Arch." (Wikipedia)

Lake Koocanusa was completed in 1972 as a joint project between the United States and Canada in an effort to provide flood protection and to generate hydroelectric power. The Kootenai River fluctuated wildly in the spring causing flooding in Montana, Idaho and British Columbia. Lake Koocanusa received its name in a contest to name the Libby Dam reservoir. Alice Beers, from Rexford, Montana, combined the first three letters from KOOtenai River, and the first three letters of CANada and USA.

We finally made it to Portland, OR. - now, the fun begins. We have to pickup a loaner truck here in Portland then drive it to Phoenix, AZ where we pickup the new truck.
