These are some cookies that were ordered for my daughters school Iftar dinner. Simple shortbread cookies with a mosque silhouette in a night sky. The glitter helps with the look of twinkling stars.

This is a birthday cake i have made for my daughters 3rd birthday tomorrow.
Probably my first and last castle cake, this was soo hard to do !!!!
It turned out different to what i had planned, again one of my go with the flow cakes lol. so lets say its a whimsical messy make shift cake =)
I didn't have long to make this cake but im hoping for a good reaction from her.
i think we all want that " OMG" reaction so fingers crossed ! =)
Sorry for not commenting lately im so behind, will catch up ( story of my life lately) ugh

This is a remake of a Chinese tea set i did a while back, its been tweaked a little and a few little things have been added, like the Eclair and mini cupcake . Sadly my last teapot broke and i had been asked to make one again.
I loved making this but it took so long !!!!

These are the first ever cookies i have made and decorated, usually im a cupcake gifter but this time all my cake equipment is packed up for our move so i wanted to try these out. Probably the last too since i found it soooo hard !!! So many piping bags !!! ugh !
I kept the colours in simple pastels and added shimmer later. The piping is really simple petals made into designs.
Not many pics from me lately and im really behind on commenting so i do apologise, i will definately try and catch up soon =)

40th Birthday Cake

Its been a while since i have made a cake and this one was a small order i had from a lovely lady from the US.
This was a surprise cake for her boyfriend who was turning 40 and they were celebrating it in Vancouver. She was so lovely and gave me as much info as possible to make the cake as personal and funny for her boyfriend Ken.
So they have 2 dogs and one pee's everywhere so she wanted a peeing dog, plus the other is just sitting pretty at the bottom. And he was really into Domo-kun and she had wanted a mini one on the cake too. The basic brief was fun and colourful.
This is a 6" and 4" cake stacked with fondant and gumpaste decor. Its my first time making dogs so this was quite a challenge !!!!
No more cakes for me for a while since im packing to move to Toronto and then some ! ugh

Hi Flickr friends , Its been a looooong time since i've been on Flickr, we were away in Toronto for a month and then a much needed week in the Bahama's. The pic above is from the Adastra Gardens in Nassau which really was a beautiful place to visit. This parrot wasn't too friendly but sat still for a camera. They were really beautiful and there were so many colours and breeds. The camera really doesn't do it justice.

This is the first attempt and i would love to make more, i really enjoyed the process. The design kinda just came along, i used edible pens for the black outlines and a bright sapphire luster for the teacup and saucer detail. i added some simple petal detail too.

This a view of the topper for the birthday cake i did for Kai. This was inspired by PinkCakeBox's design. Shayla (Kai's) mum sent me the pic and i made a few changes and added my own touch. The toppers are made from Gumpaste.

This is a birthday cake i had for the weekend for a lovely client Shayla. She wanted to celebrate her son Kai's 1st birthday with this PinkCakeBox inspire design. I made the toppers in advance from gumpaste. i used tones of blue, green and brown and a hint of red. 2 tier cake 10" Vanilla cake and vanilla buttercream with lemon curd filling. 8" cake on top in chocolate with chocolate filling.
With this there were matching cupcakes individually boxed (25qty) (which i never got a chance to photograph ..ooops !) There was also a 4" little cake just for Kai himself to dig into inspired by the Backyardigans (i'll put that up soon)

This is the other one of the two cakes i had to make for a wedding this weekend. The bride wanted to give a little something for the little guests who had birthday that day so it really was a sweet gesture for them.
The brief was blue =)
Ps im so used to doing pretty florals and filigree i had tough time doing a boys cake ! as you can i couldn't help the swirls !!! lol

Indian Delights Purse Cake

Totally edible cake made from gumpaste, around 6" tall in aqua. The handle and clasp area are embossed and painted with gold lustre paint.
I drew (with edible pens) the black henna design on the bag then piped in bright pink and yellow highlighting detail. This is the first bag i have ever made and it was quite the challenge !!! draping fondant is so tricky especially the gathering at the top of the bag.
This is the Flickr Bake-Off cake i had made in competition to Jen's (She takes the Cake) fabulous peacock purse which is so beautiful ! Who would have thought we would pick the same colour !!!

Double Chocolate chip cupcakes with Vanilla cream cheese frosting. Gumpaste flowers painted wth gold luster details.

Just wishing friends a belated Ramadan Mubarak. We're already 1/3 way through the fasts and tho the days are long in Houston its a very blessed and rewarding month.

My daughter helped add the shimmer to the feet =)

Pretty Pinks

Im gearing up to my orders next week so i've been busy making sugar flowers. The background card was my inspiration, i loved the colours and style, so i hope to translate that onto the cake
Fasting is going well, but patients wears thin when you haven't eaten for 14 hours ! But thats what its all about and theres a lesson in it. 4 down 26 to go ! =)
Made these flowers a little different with tiny ball centers, got regular white sprinkles added white and gold pearl powder dust and gave it a good shake and voila, tiny pearl balls !!!
