This is a self portrait I did early this morning shortly after midnight. One of the most challenging self portraits I ever tried to be honest. Thanks to Ainsley Joseph (www.flickr.com/photos/ainsleyj/5340746412/) for the concept that inspired me to create this photograph.

Shot with the Nikon D200, Exposure Mode: Manual, Document Type: Camera Raw Image, AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G lens, SU-800 Commander in Manual at 1/2 power, SB-910 speedlight in Remote mode and controlled by SU-800 via Nikon CLS, Lumodi beauty dish with sock, 2 x Yongnuo RF-603 triggers, Manfrotto 055 XPROB tripod, Aperture: f/1.8, Shutter Speed: 1/6400 sec, ISO: 100, and White Balance: Cloudy. Post processing done using Adobe Camera Raw, Adobe Bridge CS6, and Adobe Photoshop CS6.

Someone Stole My Photographs Again

Yesterday, I got called out in another Facebook photography group about one of my photographs that I posted and questioned if the photograph was my work or not. First time that has happened to me. What do you say to someone who is looking at a photograph you shot and that person asks you if you are sure that is a photograph that you took? LOL, after some research and more information from the photographer who called me out about my photograph. I found out that someone has indeed stolen my photographs again, and they are using them to portray themselves. I guess I'm doing something right when people start stealing my work. It isn't the first time I busted someone using my photographs, but this is taking stealing to knew depths. I'll have to call them out on this when I get home from work and put them on blast on Facebook. There isn't much I can do if I post my work online so that it can appear within a web browser on the Internet, it can be stolen by someone. The only protection is to register your photographs with the copyright office. Watermarks are not effective in preventing someone from stealing your photographs! I don't have time to sweat thieves of my work.

I was experimenting with photographing smoke trails using incense sticks. This is a composite of 3 smoke trails. Photograph 1, 2, and 3: Aperture: f/6.3, Shutter: 1/60 sec, ISO: 100, SU-800 Commander, SB-910 @ 1/16 pwr, SB-700 @ 1/32 pwr, Manfrotto 055 XPROB tripod,Yongnuo RF-603 trigger, 2 x Large Rouge Flashbenders, 1 burning incense stick. Post processing done using Adobe Bridge CS6, Adobe Camera Raw 7.4, Adobe Photoshop CS6, Silver Efex Pro 2.

Self portrait shot with Nikon D200, AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G lens, SB-700 speedlight triggered by Nikon CLS, Aperture: f/4.5, Shutter: 1/3200 sec, ISO: 100, Exposure Mode: Manual.

Photograph of my Nikon D200 camera was taken with Nikon D300, Aperture: f/5.6, Shutter: 1/80 sec, ISO: 200, Exposure Mode: Manual. SB-700 and Quantaray PZ1 speedlights were used.

I Am Nikon D200 created in Photoshop CS6.

I was practicing composites and working with layers in Adobe Photoshop CS6. Practice is the only way I can grow with photograph, so I experiment with my own photographs to make new creations.
