The third and final installment in the trilogy of videos from The Holy Beauty Project is finally online, one year after its production and official presentation at Saint Claire’s Church Museum in Bogotá, Colombia, and one month after being showcased at the third annual Video Art & Experimental Film Festival, which took place at the iconic Tribeca Cinemas in New York City. If you once followed me on Flickr, this image might ring a bell for you...or not. It's part of a small series of paintings revisiting the very first photographs I took when I arrived in France, 3 and a half years ago.

Very soon I'll be leaving Europe to return to my country. I posted a sort of "good bye" letter on my blog, reflecting on all the good things that happened to me (personally and professionally) while living here. Along with that I posted the complete painting series. Check it out.

This is a still from my new video. It's the 2nd video for The Holy Beauty Project, and I'm very excited to announce that it will be premiered at Dazed Live Festival, next Saturday April 9th, in London.
I'd like to invite people in London to go check it out! :)

I felt like adding another drawing to the project. In case you're wondering, I blended the original photo (which I daren't publish) into the drawing (which I didn't trace directly on the pic) with some PS work.

So I found these fancy enveloppes in my place that hadn't been used, and I thought they were perfect for this special occasion**

I know some of you have already seen this painting, but I wanted to make it a part of the project. Later on I’m going to upload the first paintings I’ve done in France :)

"As you wake up, something seems to have finally surpassed the sadness this morning. You have not slept or eaten much in several days but, even though you may not notice, an alien lucidity is taking over. Today you will look at your unbearable pain for the two hundredth time and find new shadows and lines, for you are standing on the outside now. Events appear as stories told by third party foreigners, strip comics by dead or nonexistent people. Grief seems to be gone, but just because it's right there under your own feet.

After going through dark hell for so many days, looking as if it would never reach an end, it's good to remember… Everything ends, love and pain, indifference and boredom, extreme happiness, money and success, sickness and fear, kisses and laughter, grief and solitude, they all END, even if with the arrival of death. "I like to do things more than once. I love the taste of food the second time. And I prefer the second kiss to the first one. Actually, I'm not into first times of anything.
I'm a cook in a large hotel kitchen; and I'm second chef below Chef Fred. After he has finished preparing his best plates I get to try them before they're taken to the costumers. I try them twice. It's necessary. At first they all seem perfect to me. On the contrary, when I try them for the second time, I uncover all Chef Fred's mistakes. We speak in private and then he does a little magic, so the plates can be taken to the people who ordered them. They always end up satisfied and happy.
I can touch whatever I want from the kitchen, except for a red pepper which Chef Fred brought back from one of his long trips to Middle East. He keeps it on the top of a shelf. Actually, he told me he had stolen it from a large garden whose name he couldn't remember. As tempting as it looks, I don't touch it. We call it the "Forbidden vegetable" as a joke.
Anyway, the other day I arrived at work and Chef Fred seemed in a hurry. He said, "I'll be gone all day. You'll be in charge of the kitchen until I return."
I couldn't believe it. I had the whole kitchen to myself. Obviously, I began to wonder what was so special about the red pepper on the shelf. I couldn't help it; I had to know how it tasted. So I gave it a small bite. I know I shouldn't have, but I wasn't thinking. And this was a terrible mistake.
My life gave a terrible turn: I started to feel, see, and sense everything as if it was the first time. Of course, Chef Fred expelled me from his kitchen forever. Now I live in this pathetic and sad little world, all original and new. I have no job and I lost the pleasure of the second time. Damn you, forbidden red pepper."
