Lady Victory or "Miss Indiana"

This summer 38 foot tall, 21,000 pound Lady Victory or "Miss Indiana" was removed from her 284 foot pearch atop Indianapolis' Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument for repair to 5 of her sixteen supports. The monument, which sits in the center of Indianapolis' circle was dedicated in 1902 and designed by German architect Bruno Schmitz. George W. Brewster designed Lady Victory.

I'm not quite where I want to be just yet, but I have lost 70 pounds in the last year and a half. I have done it by just counting calories every day, which will be my new way of life from now on.

I took this picture last Sunday at the Indianapolis Children's Museum. This trip was special because it was the 1st time that I was there with my 3 grandchildren, Lilly, Chris and Ben.

I put some catnip in this empty blanket bag and Mr. Pusskin couldn't get enough !

This is a bush in our back yard. I don't have a clue what kind of bush it is, its just one of those lovely gifts from Mother Nature that grew without us planting it.

I have not been a very good 'flickr friend' lately, and I'm sorry about that. Nice weather, yard work and belated spring cleaning, among other things, are eating away at my flickr time. I do not post pictures when I know that I don't have time to return your lovely comments, so ... I have not been posting much. That does not mean that I have not been thinking about you all. Once the weather heats up and I'm stuck inside with the air conditioning I should be back to a shot a day.

Here is a shot of Mr. Pusskin looking so innocent lounging in the back yard in front of a bunch of bird feathers. Gee, I wonder how those got there !
