284/366 [2012] - First Field Trip of the School Year

It's the first field trip, but it won't be the last.
The 2nd graders went to the fire station.
They learned about the different types of fire engines, how firefighters live when they're on duty, and even got to spray water!

There are times when I actually get up early enough to see a sunrise.
This day, I was able to do it.
I'll probably have more chances as the nights get longer and days get shorter, but for now, I enjoy it!

I can't believe I actually did it, but I cut my hair. Not just a little trim.
Nope, I left quite a pile at the salon when I was done.
But it looks so good. I'm so very happy with it!

While watching a magic show at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival, I enjoyed a yummy delicious pretzel and cheese, and Josh had, of course, a huge turkey leg. I couldn't find cheesecake on a stick, which makes me sad. I need to find some sort of replacement soon.

The Photo a Day theme was "Shadow". When the WHOLE day looked like this, it's pretty much not possible to have a good shot of a shadow.
It made me sad, and sleepy.

UGH! The complex is going through some minor construction.
Just some repairs to the parking lot.
But it was the BIGGEST headache. There wasn't really much warning.
The office couldn't tell us when it would be finished.
It was a hassle, and it was annoying.

Madison went with me to a pre-writing seminar at the library. We learned about pre-writing for NaNoWriMo. Madison is going to be joining in with the Young Writer's Program (YWP). I'm so proud of her!

The old desk chair was causing so many pains. I was losing feeling in my legs constantly.
My shoulders were always on fire.
I couldn't sit at the desk properly.
Now ... I can. It's perfect.
And comfy.

This might be one of the last times that my daughter has the chance to wear this shirt. She loves it. My mom got it for her, but she's getting bigger.

Fall in Kansas is always gorgeous, and the farm areas seem to see it faster.
I got the chance to experience some of it at my father-in-law's and it was nice.
Lovely.

Crazy winds means I have to bring in things that can blow away.
On the patio, visiting, was a gorgeous pigeon.
It was a quiet bird, not what I was expecting.
I was sad to see no Bert from Sesame Street visiting though :(
