This time of year you're likely to come across the odd snowdrop, but at Welford in West Berkshire, there's a whole woodland covered in Snowdrops.

Site of an old abbey, the snowdrops were cultivated in the past for their medicinal qualities, whatever they are, but hundreds of years later all that's left is a vast woodland of snowdrops.

Another image of Holly Hill on the North Kent Downs enhanced by those white fluffy clouds hurtling across the scene on the strong wind.

Apologies to my friends and contacts, haven't been on Flickr much lately, so have some catching up to do.

Now have my beloved Canon 17-40 lens back from repair, which decided to stop focusing on a whim, and I thought it was my eyes! One new USM later, and should be back soon with some pix!

The fortified Manor House of Stokesay Castle, just north of Ludlow in Shropshire. It's origins are as a 13th Manor House, later added upon and fortified. It's now managed by English Heritage.

The quaint chocolate box style gatehouse at Stokesay Castle in Shropshire. This is the entrance through to the fortified 13th Century Manor House, managed by English Heritage.
