I'm trying to listen to the wisdom of my parents right now. Don't stress out over things that are outside of my control and just do what I can to shape the outcome as I need it to be. I've been under the weather lately and have yet another surgery coming up next month. I did everything I needed to to prepare myself for it.

Unfortunately, my pup fell ill this morning and I had to rush him to the emergency vet. My poor kid was really struggling and was completely dehydrated, throwing up and going to the bathroom without any control. It's a helpless feeling because they can't tell you where it hurts and you end up feeling like crap because you didn't understand sooner.

Right now Seven's with my vet, on IVs for dehydration and to get antibiotics into his system because they found campylobacter in his stool. My vet said that he's responding but he can't come home today. She wants to keep him ot make sure everything goes right. My stomach is in knots and I'm trying to relax, accept that I did everything I that I could for him and that things will work out fine.

Ugh. My birthday is tomorrow and I'm just not feeling it at all. This was to be my first birthday in years where I wasn't in surgery or recovering from one. Since I scheduled my surgery for November I thought I'd have a stress-free day. I don't think that's going to happen. I can't spend the day at the aquarium while stressing over getting a call to bring him home.

I guess I just need to have more faith that things are going to be okay. I miss my pup.
