I'm confused. Is the point of using headless mannequins not to distract from the outfits? Or to more easily allow potential buyers see themselves wearing them?

Imagining Sister as Twins

My sister is not a twin. But I'd recently scanned a photo-booth strip she'd posed for years ago. (Found in a box of photos she sent for the Family Photo Project I'm working on.) And thought I could use it for the current 52 Weeks of Pix theme -- twins.

After I copied that scan & separated the now slightly edited photos, I printed them out on 8-1/2 by 11 paper. Which I laid out in various ways to see I could make my sister look like different people -- but still identical twins -- using those original images. Only now somewhat modified, printed, & larger.

I then took photos of the paired images that looked best. That is, as Identical twins but different people. So, do you think I succeeded?

These vintage Xmas bulbs are actually the same size. Identical 'twins' so to speak.

Used a fave background -- bubblewrap!-- to keep them from rolling off the Formica table.

They were more my older sister's friends than mine. But Jackie & Joyce wanted to show off their dolls The twins' father is in the background.

Liked how that corner of the fence looks like the beginnings of a nest.

Not sure there was much of a meeting across cultures here ... but that huge peacock is divine!

Famed artist known for painting lovely white birds, Jessie Arms Botke was also an early supporter of women's suffrage.

"Most active in a period when the art world was almost an exclusive enclave of male artists, Jessie Botke gained extraordinary recognition through a strong work ethic and a talent that flowered rather late in her painting career. Her predilection for white birds – pelicans, geese, ducks, cockatoos, and white peacocks – inspired her to a high level of artistry.

"“My interest in birds was not sentimental, it was always what sort of pattern they made, and the white peacock was so appealing because it was a simple, but beautiful white form to be silhouetted against dark background, and the texture and pattern of the lacy tail broke the harshness of the white mass without losing the simplicity of the pattern."
