A recent trip to Disneyland I took this shot on Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin in Mikey's Toontown. I haven't been to Disnelyand in probably 15 years. I used to live about two miles from the place and went often, to the point of burnout. After such a longtime away from the place, I ended up having a really good time. I didn't get much interesting photographically, but I did get a few interesting shots taken from the rides.

This image is the wider view shot the same night as the prior post. Both are shot about 20 minutes after sunset. A rare night, of the Golden Gate Bridge with clear weather and no fog. It looks placid, but the conditions were quite windy.

I haven't been shooting much for a few months. Lot's going on at work and outside of work. I went out last night to try to stir up some artistic passion. This is one of the last shots I captured last evening. It was cold and windy but the sky looked so placid.

This image was shot from the beach at Crissy Field looking due east. There are so may shots out there of the Golden Gate Bridge, but it amazes me how many ways it can be photographed and still find views that surprise.

This beached fishing boat is a fixture in Tomales Bay. The craft can't be missed as you enter Invernes on your way to Point Reyes National Sea Shore. We hadn't visited in two or three years and thought this past weekend, a beautiful early spring day would be a good day for a drive.We weren't disappointed. On the way home, we stopped at the local grocery store to get a snack for the drive back. Behind the store, a short trail on the mudflats lead to this beauty. basking in the late afternoon light.

Another Niles Canyon Railway composite. This is a composite of about 3 different exposures. The light painting on the tracks and the right side of the rail cars was contributed by another photographer working on his own image. While I was looking for a natural un-enhanced image, I decided the added light painting was worth adding to my own composition

This shot of two tank cars in the Niles Canyon Railyard were shot as the full moon was rising behind them. The foreground is lit by lighting within a restored coach. with the glow of the moon and sky illuminating the night sky. the blue glow under the wheels of the car are light-painted from an LED flashlight. This is a blend of three exposures

One of my last images of the evening. I was working to capture a long exposure by moonlight. One of the other photographers happened to be experimenting with light painting from the other side. This image is a composite of about four images incorporating elements of the light painting from the other side...

Niles Canyon Twilight

This was one of my first shots of the evening captured a little after 6 p.m. when the twilight glow was still pretty strong This is a blend of three shots. I used a slight grad filter on the horizon to balance the light. The light in Niles Canyon offers opportunities throughout the day, but twilight is probably my favorite light to shoot in

This shot captures a 1950s dining car under restoration. The car was pitch black when I shot it, completely surrounded by other darkened cars in the rail yard. This image is my 3rd attempt at painting with light on the scene. Shot with a 10mm lens and a long exposure, the entire car was lit with an LED flashlight with me walking the length of the car painting the scene. Light painting here produces a rather gaudy and surreal light that seems to flatter this 50's era car.

Taken last night in a beautiful full moon in a nocturnes shoot organized by Andy Frazer (thanks Andy). Had a great time shooting. This shot with 3 or four others I'll post are my modest contribution to the effort. I look forward to seeing the results of the rest of the group.

San Francisco Federal Bldg.

designed by the architectural firm Morphosis, the San Francisco Federal Building is located on the corner of Mission and 7th St. South of Market.
The building was designed to be a 'green' building consuming less than half the power of a standard office tower -- an indication of how building design can help slash emissions of greenhouse gases. It is the first naturally ventilated office building on the west coast since the advent of air conditioning.[3]

The building features elevators which stop on every third floor to promote employee interaction and health. Users of the building exit the elevators and walk either up or down one floor via stairs. There are, however, also elevators which stop on every floor for users unable or unwilling to negotiate stairs.

Thom Mayne of Morphosis designed the building using a concept of "resistance," juxtaposing gray concrete walls with custom, zig-zagged 9Wood wood ceilings

A glance of the San Francisco Pyramid from Market St. The SF Trans America Pyramid is one of the most recognizable landmarks of the SF Skyline. As this image shows, it's striking edifice shows up often in interesting juxtapositions between buildings.

Shot low angle across Sutro Baths out to Seal Rock and the ocean, this image was shot last night on an exceptionally clear and cloudless night. . A departure from my HDR work at this site, this was a single exposure shot of this San Francisco landmark Image data 1/4 second at F20. with a 12-24 lens at 14mm. I used a 3 stop ND Grad filter to keep the horizon exposure in line with the foreground.
