Large View Please!

It's been a while since my last big production, but here's one of a few that are coming up this week!

This is the incredible Cali Lowdermilk, who appears in one other shot in my photo stream.

I have summer portfolio coming up and I had the idea of painting a face up to look like a softer version of the popular "Sugar Skulls" that frequent Dia de los Muertos festivals.

Took about 2 days to make the set with the help of Kathy Sunderman.

The makeup was a collaborative effort by Melissa Melvin Rodriguez, Holly Rose Mann, Cali, and myself.

First off, SORRY SORRY SORRY! It's been so long since I've posted a photo to my flickr huh?

Well I was on internship with the great Rodney Smith in Palisades, NY! It was amazing. I'll start officially working for him in June.

In March my internship with the legendary Miss Annie Leibovitz begins, so I'm quite excited and have lots to look forward to!

This photo was taken because I have a standing tradition with my brother to do a mini-shoot on Christmas!

I have SO many shoots planned for you all, including a continuation of my Wonderland series and a new Secret Garden series!

Hello Flickr!

News, news, news! I landed an internship with Annie Leibovitz this coming spring, and I have an internship with Rodney Smith starting October 11th! Wish me luck!

This is my final project for my Photographic Illustration course.

We had to use a life changing event or thing in our lives, and somehow portray it in a photo/video/any form of media.

For me (as many of you know) storybooks are part of my biggest inspiration.

They symbolize a time in my life when everything was as it should be, and creativity was purely encouraged.

I'll post the other 2 shots from the series below!

My mom bought me this book as a surprise this past week, and she always knows the perfect thing to get for me, so I'm dedicating this image to her. This was done in about 10-15 minutes! So not as elaborate as some of my other set ups have been.

My mom is always inspiring me.

This was taken at Revival Antiques in Raleigh, NC. They are an AMAZING business that take in old antiques and restore or reimagine them and then resell them.

They also sell furniture that has not been altered, or you could bring in a piece you own and pay to have it reworked!

Check them out, I'll post more images from the shop later in a collage or something like that.

Took a drive up to Boone yesterday with Holly, and Walker! The light was beautiful so we drove up the mountain to get the best possible view.

I love the mountains, I could live there my entire life and be more than happy.

I shot a layout assignment for school this past weekend and my theme was Young couples compared to old couples, we had to comprise 8 compostions on 2 11x14 boards.

This was one of the shots from the young couples side.

Daniel and Callie modeling for this.
It was shot at the first house I ever lived at in Whitakers, NC. Emotional shoot for me, because the house is falling apart.

This is the grandmother of the bride from the wedding this past weekend. Everyone was so happy she was able to make it to the wedding.

I generally love and appreciate the wisdom of people that have been around longer than me, and it was refreshing to see how far family will go for one another.

My friends Blair and Mark got married Saturday, I was hired to do a photo guestbook at the reception, of everyone holding up picture frames over their faces.

I made a backdrop by covering an old board from our church that had words on it (ie., Serve, Love, etc.)

The only word that was remaining once covered was commit, so I immediately got the idea for this shot. More from this series as I edit them.

This shot is one of my mom's Mother's Day gifts. She already got the bouquet of daisies I sent, no worries I didn't forget.

I think I have the most beautiful mother on Earth, but I may be a bit biased.

This is for my mom, when I was young she would read Where the Wild Things Are pretty much every night. She had it memorized. Going back and reading it now, It impacts me so much. I get to the last 4 pages and start to tear up.

I love her. A lot.

And I know that I'll always have somewhere where I can be loved best of all.
