Large View Please!

It's been a while since my last big production, but here's one of a few that are coming up this week!

This is the incredible Cali Lowdermilk, who appears in one other shot in my photo stream.

I have summer portfolio coming up and I had the idea of painting a face up to look like a softer version of the popular "Sugar Skulls" that frequent Dia de los Muertos festivals.

Took about 2 days to make the set with the help of Kathy Sunderman.

The makeup was a collaborative effort by Melissa Melvin Rodriguez, Holly Rose Mann, Cali, and myself.

We shot this behind my apartment this afternoon on a whim, it was Holly Rose, Walker Anderson and me; equipped with 3 cups of water, a stool, a tripod, and my trusty 5D Mark II!

Hello Flickr!

News, news, news! I landed an internship with Annie Leibovitz this coming spring, and I have an internship with Rodney Smith starting October 11th! Wish me luck!

This is my final project for my Photographic Illustration course.

We had to use a life changing event or thing in our lives, and somehow portray it in a photo/video/any form of media.

For me (as many of you know) storybooks are part of my biggest inspiration.

They symbolize a time in my life when everything was as it should be, and creativity was purely encouraged.

I'll post the other 2 shots from the series below!

Inspired by and named after the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett - "The Secret Garden"

Shot this a few months ago! It's my friend Anna Tucker and her gorgeous tights!

She had the flower behind her ear all day and we were walking down this stone path. I look down in the viewfinder of my Mamiya C330 and see her legs against the stone and HAD to shoot it!

I love the tonality of it all, very summery.

It's Holly Rose Mann and her fabulous d90 everyone!

This was shot for my small format class in which we were told to use bokeh as a compositional element. This is what we came up with.

But I LOVE the bokeh in that lens, it looks like something out of 2001: A Space Odyssey

So another shot from the White Rabbit portion of my Wonderland series. This was done in Englewood park with the always beautiful Callie Ramsay. That's Turkish Delight in the box by the way. It was delicious. Oh and the Bottle should look quite familiar as well, I think someone was holding it in a sunflower field in another shot of mine :]]

I love that forest so much.

I'm thinking I'll upload one more from the White Rabbit series soon.

This was taken at Revival Antiques in Raleigh, NC. They are an AMAZING business that take in old antiques and restore or reimagine them and then resell them.

They also sell furniture that has not been altered, or you could bring in a piece you own and pay to have it reworked!

Check them out, I'll post more images from the shop later in a collage or something like that.

This is a Christmas Tree farm on the way to Boone, It was absolutely beautiful so I grabbed a shot of it.

The fading mountains in the background are actually Boone.

So many Christmas trees!

Took a drive up to Boone yesterday with Holly, and Walker! The light was beautiful so we drove up the mountain to get the best possible view.

I love the mountains, I could live there my entire life and be more than happy.

The newest shot in the Alice in Wonderland series. There are a lot of good shots from this shoot, and I had an EXTREMELY difficult time choosing which one would be the best to upload.

I hope it lives up to the expectations that this series has produced so far.

I shot a layout assignment for school this past weekend and my theme was Young couples compared to old couples, we had to comprise 8 compostions on 2 11x14 boards.

This was one of the shots from the young couples side.

Daniel and Callie modeling for this.
It was shot at the first house I ever lived at in Whitakers, NC. Emotional shoot for me, because the house is falling apart.

This was a shot I took during Alyssa Barajas' production of a music video for the song Please Don't Go by Barcelona.

It was an amazing night, so many emotions and a ton of inspiration in the air. Cali Lowdermilk was the model for the shoot, She let me use her amazing 50mm 1.4 lens.

This was a fantastic team to work with and I'd love to do other projects with them.
