A different view of the Rusty Barn I posted earlier. I thought, showing the fence gave it some, what Flickr calls, Interestingness! I loved the old fence and the growth and wanted to make it more prominant than the Rusty Barn.

Before heading out to the Butterfly House for the Meetup Group's outing, I wanted to catch some morning light hitting this barn, but was surprised by the stormy morning (not in the weather forecast!). Butterfly pics coming soon.

closeup shot of the Howe-truss System, inside the Locust Creek Covered Bridge, Laclede, MO.

The bridge was built out of white pine using the Howe-truss system, named for William Howe, who patented the design in 1840. The essential features of the design were its use of vertical iron rods to draw the diagonal wooden members tight against the top and bottom of the bridge.

An old rusty barn, hiden by some trees, nearby the Locust Creek Covered Bridge, in Laclede, MO.

Saw this barn on the way to the Covered Bridge and had to stop on the way back. There was really no way to get around having the trees in the photo, but in the end, it sort of added to the appeal of this old fella.

Neat old barn and silo, as seen in West MO, on the way to Laclede, MO.
I love the barbed wire fencing and wanted it to be a part of the shot.

We had a great day to drive around photographing some old barns, on our way to the Locust Creek Covered Bridge Historical Site, in Laclede, MO. (those photos soon to come.)

Patchwork Barn

Neat old barn, with metal patches, replacing or re-enforcing the old wood siding, as barely seen in Augusta, MO.

This old barn was nestled in lots of overgrowth, that we barely saw when we left Augusta, MO, but just had to stop and photograph it.

Took this shot, of this cool old barn, out of the window in the back of the Envoy, while traveling around 40mph. There was

no place to stop and get out, that we saw. Saw this barn after visitng the Historic Daniel Boone Home, on our way back to Hwy 94 to head home.
