A friend of mine shared this Photoshop tutorial with me, so now I'm sharing it with you. The tutorial is about enhancing details in your photos. Even though the tutorial uses a portrait, the technique is very much applicable to landscapes and all other types of photos.

The main inspiration for this series were those Japanese dolls with heads bigger than their bodies. The more popular ones are Blythe and Pullip dolls.

For this shot, I was trying to play with shadows and experiment with using both sunlight and flashes to light the subject.

Several people commented on my previous photo that the pose looked like she was about to pee... and I actually don't disagree with them. So hopefully this angle and pose will be much better... ;-)

Overcast sky overhead and a gold reflector low on camera left (which you can see in her eyes).

Of all the models I've shot, I get a lot of questions about her. There's just something about her that people find very appealing. Unfortunately we haven't kept in touch and haven't had a recent shoot with Vivian. So you'll have to make do with shots from the archives. Played around with Photoshop's Color Balance to get a more natural skin tone.
