Our chickens are now teenagers (in chicken years) and are as spunky as their human "sisters." My girls who love spending time with them are often found in the back yard after school following the chickens around. The chickens who think the girls are part chicken can also be found following the girls around.

Next on our winter list of firsts is Ice Skating and as usual, my pair of overachievers left the comfort of their bucket early to try navigating the ice on their own....took a few spills but overall they did excellent for a couple of first timers.

Climb, slide, swoosh, laugh....repeat!

No...this was not our snowman....the kids were so busy sledding they settled for the resident snowman in the park instead of making their own.

After planning year after year to take the girls to see snow...we finally made it! And sure enough they were treated to snow everyday we were there...even in places that apparently did not usually get snow!

We have been fidling about the idea of having chickens (hens) as pets and for eggs (of course). So my husband finally jump the gun and incubated a few eggs hoping to hatch one or two....we now have 6 chicks which we are still hoping to be all girls so we can keep them all. For the girls...the experience of seeing them hatch was priceless!!!

Mer is ready for music lessons and her first choice is piano which we can't do yet because we wanted her to have a real piano at home so she can practice as she wish. So second choice is GUITAR and we could not be more thrilled....well, her Dad especially...so much so that she got a new Baby Taylor for it. She loves it and she's starting to sound really good!

Yes, we are still taking it BUT lately.....it's not daily. I'm hoping that will change soon. I really missed very little last year and would like to do the same this year especially since Ickey is also now taking them as well.
