Plitvice National Park (Nacionalni park Plitvička jezera) had miles of these boardwalks set up where you could walk among the waterfalls - a very lovely and well-organized park.

One of my favorite shots from our trip to Plitvice National Park in central Croatia. The leaves were just starting to turn in a few places, but this Norway maple tree (Acer platanoides) was ahead of the curve....

Spent yesterday and today at Plitvice Lakes National Park, which might be one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.

The valley is a series of lakes that fall one into the next through natural travertine dams that are built by algae. The dams are covered with plants and moss, and the waterfalls seem to just sprout out of the greenery. Absolutely unbelievable.

As you might expect, we took our time, and spent more than six hours walking and seeing the falls, and took more than 1000 pictures. I’ve downloaded them and looked at them all, but it will take time to sort through and post the best. Plus we're traveling again - now back in Zagreb and headed to an orienteering meet tomorrow.

I really do hope to catch up soon!
