Short stories from a Digit_AL Life: Taking Self Portraits at the Gym

It's a new year! and one of the most popular new year's resolution for a lot of people is getting back in shape; that is all fine and dandy, and pretty innocent and harmless like the normal person would percieve....is it? Well let's not forget about the die-hards now. You know the type I'm talking about, the individual who is always at the gym despite rain, shine, or sleet...that's the one...Mister ACG (all conditions guy). Most people will track their progress through written charts, logs and even verbal annotations on a personal voice recorder - not mister ACG. He has forgone any form of decency and shame by going that extra step further...in this game of iron it's "Go Big or Go Home!" Mister ACG will have his personal photographic studio on site to help aid his ironclad progress. He will be snapping shots of himself whilst repping out 225 lbs for squats or maybe his 405 lb bench; he must be a great photographer as well. I was fortunate enough to have spotted mister ACG at the gym not too long ago, but although he didn't have his umbrella lights and bikini-clad female assistants holding light reflectors to get that perfect glow of lights on his physique, he had his tripod and wireless remote at the ready. Whoa! I thought to myself, that is the new Nikon D800, we got a pro in the house! Above all else though I was hoping he wouldn't seriously hurt himself trying to get that shot mid-rep becuase it seemed as though that was his intentions. Trying to squat weight may seem hard enough, let alone trying to activate a wireless camera remote. My final thought was, I hope mister ACG didn't get hurt becuase posting that shot, mid-rep, with 225 lb squats is not going to make him any more desirable on facebook than if he were faced-down and in a full body cast at the nearest quick care clinic, but the most annoying part was the sound of the built-in flash popping out with every snap...maybe he wasn't a pro after all? A new year's resolution...work smart not hard, safety first facebook last or it's game over for the ACG types.
