For Get Pushed Round 10 I was partnered with Karen www.flickr.com/photos/59438695@N02/. First she flattered me by commenting on a lot of my photo's and then she gave me a 3 challenges from which I got to pick one. Cool! Karen is an amazing photographer so give her profile a look.

After failing her first challenge I soldiered on to the next:

"Capture one of your favourite things in a water droplet"

So what are my favorite things? I like a lot, but when I'm busy with photography I love colors. So I took a CD (music is also something that I like :)) and used the colors from it's reflection.

We had an amazing time in Barcelona, but one day the weather wasn't as good as you would expect in Spain.

In the distance I heard thunderstorms coming so I've decided to check it out on the roof terrace. The light there was amazingly reflected in the clouds, almost like there was daylight. The next evening the light was gone, so I'm happy that I took this chance.

Standing all alone there was a bit eery, but worth it.

We went to see the match between FC Barcelona and Osasuna. We had amazing seats. It's really special to see the players that we normally see on tv or on my xbox walking around in real life.

For R7 I was paired with Stacie was here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/stacieandthebartonboys/): A creative photographer who challenged me with the one thing I don't like that much. Portraits.

Here's what Stacie wrote
"I spent some time browsing through your stream, and I love a lot of your scenes of ordinary things, but from extraordinary points of view. You have an excellent graphic eye (designer!) and I love your use of color.

I think a challenge for you would to be to take a portrait of someone. I didn't see any on the pages I went through. You can make it a self portrait, or a friend, or stranger. Use your dynamic, graphic style! I think it will be fantastic!"

And yes I was looking forward to make a portrait, preferably a self portrait and started sketching some ideas, inspired by the wonderful 365 series that many flickr users have. But then disaster: I didn't have the lenses or even a flash for my camera and I wanted to capture movement and crisp light.

So I deviated from my original plan and went looking for some nice visual contrast. I found these little old ladies and the old faces combined with modern sunglasses where enough for me to get the old zoomlens out and make a sneaky portrait.

I still have my ideas for self portrait and am investigating a nice portrait lens, so I'm hoping that I'll be put my ideas in motion soon.

It is an interesting photostream. I saw a reference to your love for a new telephoto but I cannot determine what type of equipment you are using do to the restrictions on your photostream. Surely not all of the dutch farmers have emigrated to Canada :-) There must still be beautiful landscapes out there in Netherlands. And that's true, I normally don't shoot photos with a lot of nature in it, I like big cities and bright coloured lights. When challenged I thought of a recreational nature area in my neighbourhood and I've never been there. The goal for me was a wide angled shot, with no "man made" objects in the shot. Since I like light's I went for the sun set. I think I captured the Dutch landscape pretty well. It was a real challenge getting the flat scenery in to the shot.

In the last week I came home twice with mud on my knees and shoes, but also a big smile on my face.

For this round I was paired with Dave Lord,
he gave me the push to paint with light. I didn't want to do a traditional long exposure with a flash light shot, so I looked for soft gradients that you see in paintings.
