This woman was one of the sandcastle builders at the Santa Barbara Sandcastle Festival at East Beach in Santa Barbara, California. All of the builders on her team wore these crocheted caps, which I found interesting and colorful.

Cathie is our favorite waitress at our favorite little Italian restaurant in Oxnard. The spaghetti there is delicious, the ambiance is cozy, and you can be guaranteed you'll hear Frank Sinatra songs while you dine. The rigatoni is my dinner; the spaghetti is my husband's. The lighting was difficult, with an overhead fluorescent light. I made adjustments in post-processing.
