This view of the bungalows shows just how narrow the Gypsy Lines layout really is. From the front to the back, only about nine inches or so. Yet look at how much detail has been packed into this tiny scene!

The creator of the Gypsy Trolley Line, John Kosma, is a photographer. From what I understand, many of the buildings on his layout are created from photographs he's taken. When he finds a building that he likes, he photographs it from all angles, then manipulates the photos in Photoshop, and prints them out on heavy card stock. After they are printed, he carefully cuts out the buildings, and assembles them.

My favorite module of the Gypsy Trolley Lines. This reminds me so much of the alleyways I remember as a kid in Chicago, Calumet City and Hammond...always a fun place for kids to play out of site of the grown-ups. :-)

Looking down the line from the Little Romania module, one can see just how very narrow most of this layout is, maybe just nine inches wide! The Little Romania module is just two feet wide itself. A plexiglass front protects the entire layout from curious little hands. I believe that's the layout creator's wife watching over the operation.

The "Little Romania" section of the layout has a beautiful curved wooden trestle that serves to reverse the direction of the trollies. That's a work/maintenance train parked on a siding. Look carefully and you might find an encampment of Gypsies....

The Bordens Divco milk truck is a bit out of era for a 1920's themed trolley layout, but it's still a really nice touch. Notice the tons of detail that really make this little scene shine.
