My grandfather's old pocket watch, a favorite heirloom. Two bounced flashes, one at a 90 degree angle set at 1/16th power and the other bounced off a small white card at 1/32nd power. The items are resting on the first page of a coffee table book.

A morning experiment upon awakening. Grabbing elements such as a shirt, my red tie, and a Bleu de Chanel, setting a single flash to bounce of a wall and highlight the lettering, and letting the window light be the primary source. I mostly use flash to supplement natural light. I used my 50mm 1.4 Planar and Metabones Speed Booster.

I have killed this Saturday afternoon experimenting with daylight filtered through a shaded window, and TTL flash bounced off the ceiling to raise ambient light slightly. I am familiarizing myself with the CLS (Creative Light System) of Nikon. It is a pleasure allowing the camera and flash to integrate more automatically into my workflow as I influence the output through the flash command module of my D90. A great camera indeed.

This is from the first set of photos using the Metabones Speed Booster and my Zeiss Distagon 28mm, effectively a 30mm 1.8 Distagon. OF course this was stopped down to f 5.6 or f/8, I forget which.
