Stitched Panorama - actually this was never meant to be a panorama. What happened is: I couldn't choose between various almost similar shots, then decided to merge them into a panorama (luckily I didn't move too much between shots). Long live AutoPano! Had to repair some of the (missing) edges in PS, but oh well...

Technique
Finally got the hang of "shooting into the light" with my Nikon D700. The trick is to use the "M" setting: fixed ISO, then choose any aperture to your artistic taste and just manually tweak the exposure time until you get the over-the-top lighting that you're looking for (my good old Sony Alpha did this automatically in the "S" setting - I guess it's not trying to be as smart as the Nikon). Anyway, I really love exaggerating this Indian Summer light as much as possible ;-)

Anyway, I really love exaggerating this Indian Summer light as much as possible ;-)

In the background you see "Hotel 't Lansink", which used to be a charming family-owned hotel, now a restaurant mainly/only.

This flower - or plant? - really stood out because of its elegant curly shape.. Took about 300 shots of it, cropped it in 15000 different ways, tweaked the lighting until my eyes started to bleed... and there you have it ! enjoy ;-)

This one took about 25 shots to get exactly right. Next time, I'm gonna ask my wife and her sister to move their damn cars out of the shot as well ;-)

From a series of different (manual) focal lengths, I found this to be the most pleasing one... a little bit of f/2.8 goes a long way ;-)

Taken in the Rosarium: a charming public little rose garden in Utrecht.

Taken with the Sony Alpha + Tamron 18-200. There are some leaves hanging in front of the subject, causing the hazy green effect.

Scott Kelby is right: a cloudy day offers the best light for photographing flowers (note to self: remember to bring something to add some fake dew droplets)

Wet flower

Taken on early saturday morning at the allotment gardens (volkstuinen) east of the city of Utrecht.

The whole picture turned out a bit greenish, which was a nice suprise since it was taken during a warm, orangy sunrise, as you can still see on the lowerside of the flower...
