40 stained glass windows by Sarkis were on display in the South Wing of the chateau: "creating bridges between the contemporary world and the objects and architecture of the past". In a corridor high in the chateau, not usually accessible to the public, this one particularly caught my attention, playing an eye/brain/2D/3D game. It is, of course, a flat piece of glass. ( works displayed until 03 November)
I have limited internet access for the next few days, back to normal soon.

The storm threatened as we arrived, and while inside we watched from the windows as torrential rain poured down the historic walls and even started to creep in and down a stairwell, visitors ran about in the courtyard, and we wondered just why had we bought inclusive tickets for the garden festival? Of course it passed; then there was that magical late-afternoon after-storm sunlight on the wet garden, and we didn't feel a drop.

Seen from the wooded riverside path, on a bike ride before breakfast. Yes, it was thrilling to see this place in different lights, Catherine de' Medici knew a thing or two in 1576.
