The blue tit is distinguished by its large blue dome. A dark blue line crosses his face white beak neck. Its wings and tail are blue. The rest of it is greenish brown. The underside is yellow uniform with a median longitudinal gray slightly marked. The two sexes differ only by less bright colors and designs less marked plumage of the female, especially on the forehead and wing coverts.

The eyes of dragonflies are formed from the juxtaposition of 28 000 units, facets called ommatidia. They occupy the largest part of the head and come in contact with the other. They are divided into two parts: the lower part is yellow-green in colour, and the upper part, of red colour. This last includes ommatidia wider, non-pigmented, the vision for distance. The hawker has also three (simple eyes) ocelli arranged in a triangle in front of the eyes, on the top of the skull, which are sensitive to brightness.the male Aeshne is characteristically black/blue/green, whileonly the female is not blue.
