to top off a perfect spring day with my mother in Waterland yesterday.
You might say we felt the promise of summer, but the sentiment is more precised with
the description that all was perfectly pleasant in the here and now.
Just one of those days to remember for good..
moments with one's 88 year old mum which are little pearls in time,

another time, another century, another war.
same victims, same consequences, same pains,
same wasted lives, same broken lives, same broken families,
same people, same world

Here was this memorial in the middle of a ditch in Overleek
where we were having a walk this afternoon.
It had a strange effect on me..walking on this sunny-cloudy
sunday afternoon seeing this big cross there.
Incredible when you think of the facts.
frustrating when you realize this war was 63 years ago
and how many wars there have been since and are going on now.

Yesterday i went into Waterland with my new camera
The weather was quite rainy and the skies were clouded.
I really love these kind of cloudy skies: lots of things happening up there.
I played with exposure, aperture and Iso-speed and and what not possibilities on this camera, to see what to use in different cirumstances, all the while jumping in and out of my car to try to avoid the rain, as D80 isn't very fond of it.
I am, so i went for a walk and left my new friend the D80 to watch my old friend the Toyota!

The youngest daughter enjoying pony-camp this week.....
the oldest one is now free to do as she pleases any time of the day,
which is nice after a year of hard work at school!
We went on a touristic trip in our own 'neighbourhood' and sat down to relax
in this super pleasant tea-garden in Overleek with a gorgeous view.
a slight breeze, temperature of 27 celcius, we sat in the shade of some trees
It was a lovely relax.
