After receiving an alert on my phone and finding the kp had shot up to 8 (very high chance of aurora in the UK) I scoured the weather looking for somewhere to escape the thick cloud over Aberdeen. This was taken between Portknockie and Findochty on the Moray coastline, Northern Scotland. Most of the night there appeared to be only an arc but at this point we could see rays shooting upwards.
