Olympic Torch Relay: Windermere

The light was getting low and the torch would pass me only once, I wanted to try something different, I did a test with an official that ran past first and then decided an 8th/second would give me the degree of motion blur I wanted. Luck still played a big part.

I'm following the Olympic Torch around the UK with Nature Valley who are the official cereal bar supplier to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games, in each city I am doing a little street photography of the event.

Last year I spent three months making a documentary film about the Street Photographers of in-public. Shot in NYC, London, Melbourne and Rotterdam the film follows in-public photographers shooting on the streets and giving in sights into their approach. The Hoar Zone #10, France 2011

A departure from my street work....transferring lenses and techniques learned whilst filmmaking and applied to the French Landscape.

The 'Hoar Zone' is an area at about 800 metres up in the Alps below the snow line where there is a permanent hoar frost at certain times of the year. The trees and bushes are crystalized by frozen water droplets from passing clouds.
