I've been having a fight with this shot for the past couple of weeks trying to get rid of a blown sky in the top right. After much cropping and messing about, this is about the best I can come up with.

Tulm Bay is right at the north of Skye where the amazing Trotternish peninsula finally falls to the sea.

Derwent Island was owned by Fountains Abbey but with the dissolution of the monasteries, it fell into the hands of the Crown and was sold off in 1569 to the Company of Mines Royal.
It is now in the ownership of the National Trust and is leased as a private home but is open to the public five days a year. The interior is classical in style.

Loch Assynt just after an almighty downpour, I was on my way back from Lochinver. There wasn't much more colour than this in the original !!

This was the first time I had ever been this far up on Skye. It had rained all the way across from Fort William to Portree and then the cloud lifted and the sun came out. This is a magical place.
