This was the weather that greeted us Saturday morning as we ran the Taste of Beaufort 5K. We didn't let the rain stop us from running the race. This shot was taken on our way home after the race.

You may have to view a larger version of the photo to see the details. On my right side of my face I'm clean shaven. That's how I appear 5 days a week. On the left side of my face is the stubble that grows on the weekends. So my face is a contrast of textures.

Balloons

This one was kind of tough for me. I was racking my brain trying to come up with a good way to show off balloons and couldn't come up with anything. Today while we were out shooping I brought along the camera and finally spotted some balloons.

We had originally planned to go out and buy several plants and shrubs for the yard but a weekend of rain cancelled those plans. At one point in time it was raining so hard the birds were gathering on our back porch to wait out the rain. This is the base below one of our feeders. As the seeds fall from the feeder they are collected and eventually something sprouts up. I'm going to say these were planted by the birds.

Meet Mr. and Mrs. Bluebird or Momma and Daddy as we call them. Momma is on the left and daddy on the right. For the past two years they have used the nesting box. The cup where momma is contains mealworms which is one of their favorite things to eat.

This is our cat, Tiger, sitting in my lap. For years he wouldn't give us the time of day but now one of his favorite things to do is to climb up in my lap while I'm doing stuff on the computer. I suppose in his way this is how he shows his love.

When I was a kid I used to swing on the swing in our back yard and look up at the clouds and pretend that if I jumped off of the swing I could float to the clouds and they would be all nice and fuffy and soft.....Yes I used to do drugs as a kid :). These clouds reminded me of those nice soft fluffy clouds I used to see as a kid.

Despite what scientist claim dinosaurs are not dead and here's proof. This is is a photo of the very rare Tree-asaurus Rex. He lives in our breakfast nook and eats any left over scraps we may have from our meals.

I originally had this week all figured out. I'd get up this morning and go to my favorite sunrise spot and shoot the sunrise, then go to the clinic to have bloodwork done, grab some breakfast and then swing by the office to take care of a couple of things before enjoying my 3 day weekend. Well so much for those plans. We had a very thick fog cloud roll in and there was no way I was going to get any sunrise pictures today. So instead this afternoon I found an open field and parked our Honda CR-V in it and this is the result. It almost makes the CR-V look badass but we know it's anything but!
