it's true. cats choose people, not vice versa. i am a dog person. 17 years ago i thought i wanted an easy care pet. you know, leave for three days with food, water and litter and not worry. as i walked through the humane society this 2 year old guy reached through the bars of the cage and grabbed my arm. sweet loving thing. three days after i got him home he became a monster. strong, agile, neutered, very territorial. 17 years later he moves from food, to bed to litter box, surveying his kingdom as an indoor cat. his eyes are still clear and bright blue. still too fiesty to take to a vet. we've been through three vets in three years, so no more trauma to that profession. if he dies he dies.
