The archway has 3 large openings, or arches and on either side a smaller archway for pedestrians. This was my path as I transitioned from the Trafalgar Square area to The Mall - towards Buckingham Palace.

As seen from The Mall and at the opposite end from Buckingham Palace. I walked from Trafalgar Square, through the arch, and down along The Mall to Buckingham Palace.

Another view with comprised of a 6 shot panoramic. this Archway acts as a gateway from one side of The Mall from Buckingham Palace and just to the other side is the entrance into the Trafalgar Square area. Its an interesting transition and sudden transition of urban space.

A return to a really cool part of London I liked for whatever reason. It helped that when I shot the arch both times I walked through the area the sky was just fantastic.

The next series of shots are a continuation of Salisbury Cathedral. I had no idea I would get to see this building so every part of these shots were a complete surprise and bonus on our weekend trip to the coast of England.

This is the arch combo that surrounds the courtyard. A composition that fits within each vaulted bay.

The view as you enter into the colonnade that surrounds the courtyard. The Cathedral space is to your left in this shot (I'm still kicking myself for not spending the 8 pounds to go inside).

While walking towards the Salisbury Cathedral you pass some interesting places. This was the old entrance gateway you enter into from St. Johns Street.

This church boasts the tallest steeple in all of England. It is tall and it is an impressive place. The detailing on the front is spectacular. I'll have some closeups posted soon.

The Arch from the approach if you came from Buckingham Palace. I was editing this as shot, in color, and decided to give the B & W a try. I learned a few things on this one and I really loved the depth of the sky and how I was able to create a lot of depth in the shot in general.

To me, or maybe I just don't process or look at B & W properly, I don't seem to get this kind of depth and I usually just stick to color as I feel I get the depth I'm looking for with color. In this shot though the depth I was able to gain compared with the color version so I decided to stick with it.

The next series of shots will be from when I met back up with Jess and a stroll to Wellington Arch. Jess is always shy, or annoyed, when the camera is pointed her way, so getting a smile from her, and not a goofy face, is a bonus for me :) thanks Jess for putting up with my constant picture taking and occasional sneaks of trying to take your picture too...

Wellington Arch in the background right as Jess sits on a granite bench that is part of the Australian War Memorial.

HDR processing using 4 exposures and exposure blending option. PS work with levels, color correction, and high pass for slight sharpening.
