It was quite fun to go to a gig where I was one of the younger members of the audience. It was enlightening to see those riffs I've heard so often played live; he has fabulous hands.

I have to credit my friend DB (wormfarming on flickr) for turning a pretty crappy old print into this fab image. I cannot recommend him highly enough for retouching!

Dad died peacefully at mid-day today. I have mixed emotions, of course; the last few months have been challenging at times, but I'm very pleased that his death was swift and peaceful and that he was not alone.

...it's been a long journey (and so very worthwhile) but soon old age will have its way. Dad's now on the Liverpool Pathway, which means that his organ failure cannot be halted and his wish to not needlessly prolong his life is respected. He is kept comfortable and has systemic treatment. To the extent that anyone with dementia can he has the space to prepare himself and we can say goodbye.

It's time.
