On a trip to Phoenix I was delighted to shoot some wonderful animals on the endanger species Merry-Go-Round at the zoo. This is a tiger a lot of kids can't wait to ride on. A Riot of Ranunculus, Carlsbad, California

This fiesta of color happens annually at the 50 acre commercial FlowerFields 20 miles north of San Diego. They have about every shade of ranunculus known and it is grown for both seed and cut bouquets. Its like wandering around inside a cartoon. I call it floral coral. Yellowstone Geology, Mineral flow, Wyoming

Yellowstone National Park geology is a work in progress. This is a flow of mineral deposits near one the larger sulfer spings. Its a magical place. Fantastic in all four seasons and a feast of nature for artists, photographers, hikers and lovers of beauty. This is a summer image from the Blue Basin area near the gyser walks.
It looks like lava but there are minerals in the shallow boiling waters that create a vivid and colorful landscape of wonder.

More experiments in silhouettes. Since my lighting wasnt the best it was natural to play with photoshop to make something fun and pleasing to the eye. Pure form, line, and color is delightful to me as is the human form. Thats what being an artist of any kind is partly about. Work, play, and discovery. Big thanks of course to my fine model too.

A few words about this different montage. First we are wearing are bathing suits. Secondly, it was an act of spontaneos fun any attempt of art is purely accidental. Thirdly, Im open to new ideas for captions. We were out of town and decided to have a few minutes of fun posing. I did a combination of Photoshop tools and some other work to get the order corrent. Wish the figures were a little more uniformly fit in the doorway but sometimes you go with what you got and sometime you experiment to have fun and dont worry about the results. I was also reminded of Hollywood Squares. Cheers and blessings

Lovers embrace at La Jolla shores beach in San Diego, CA. Romantic moments are one of life's wonderful joys. Holding hands while you walk along the shore, man, woman, touched by grace and beauty. Stop and enjoy the colors of sunset the purple and pink hues on a sandy beach. Hug and snuggle in the arms of your special friend. Embrace in gentle ways as the warm waves of the Pacific wash over your barefeet. The yellow sun kisses the horizon as the clouds change from white to lavender, orange and crimson red. Life is brief and we cherish the moments that bring us close. Nature gives us the quiet sea shore, seagulls to stand guard and the sound of surf, making music to our souls. Joy and bliss for man and woman, male and female, the yin and yang comes in quiet ways on this magic mother earth. Taken awhile back but I like the romantic quality so it seemed nice to show again on this season of love, which can happen in winter, spring, summer, or fall. Or even on a regular ol Tuesday in the middle of the work week.

Coral explorers in the cartoon like universe under the sea. Brilliant colors have many messages to other creatures. Some indicate Im poisen don't eat me and other times they say Im the king or queen come mate with me. This was taken at Scripps Aquarium a fine place to visit in San Diego
California.

I used some time lapse motion on the holiday lights in the neighborhood. It was fun and I love thes sea of glowing snake lights swimming thru the night sky to light up the world so Santa can find the way to our hearts.

Scarlet Macaw Best Costume in the Jungle

Nature has some wonderful ways to annouce " I am healthy and ready for breeding" Few have better costumes then these macaws. They are natives of central and south
America, can live up to 80 years, and endangered due to habitat loss and
capture. This one was in the San Diego Zoo.

Starfish Colors

Starfish are colorful marine creatures that are often only spotted come i at very low tides and even then for just seconds at a time as waves continue to splash over them to keep them hydrated.. I had to shuffle through some dense fog, sand trenches and got pretty wet but kept my balance and my camera dry to take these every few seconds they were underwater as they need to be. Also known as seastars, there eyes are on the end of their arms, they have 2 stomachs and can regrow arms if lost. Taken under the Crystal Pier at low tide at Pacific Beach in San Diego, California.

I was hiking in Santa Cruz county in California in spring and saw this artist at work, It recalled a scene by the French impressionist like Monet or perhaps Van Gogh. I used my own artistic insticts as well when cropping, and working with my photoshop tools to bring the magic and romanticism of life I felt when I saw this scene.

Close up of the vibrant and beautiful parrot feather of the macaw. Macaws are beautiful, brilliantly colored members of the parrot family.

Many macaws have vibrant plumage. The coloring is suited to life in Central and South American rain forests, with their green canopies and colorful fruits and flowers. The birds boast large, powerful beaks that easily crack nuts and seeds, while their dry, scaly tongues have a bone inside them that makes them an effective tool for tapping into fruits.
They mate for life and some live longer then humans. They are very intelligent. Their bright plumage has made them desirable as pets but also for hunting by those wanting to use their feathers for hats and costumes. Now an endangered species. There are 17 different kinds of macaws.

Thes two cute little beauties are only about four inches high. I planted them in my front garden last year but one was stolen and six months later the other got frostbite. This time Im trying them in the backyard so they should be safe from admiring thieves. They remind be of something you would see under the sea.

Picking bouquets of beauty is a lot of hard work and even though they are working in an amazing place, you know they are very tired by days end so appreciate those ranunculus flowers next time you get a bouquet. Blessings.

Taken in late October near Luray Lake about an hour from Asheville, North Carolina. It was just past the peak of fall but still some glorious color to thrill the eye and heart.
