This is a group of shirts that was hung on the front lawn of the Pentacrest here at the University of Iowa. Each shirt has a personal saying from a woman who has been affected, either directly or indirectly, by abuse. They also had shoes underneath these shirts that represented the number of people as a whole who are affected.

It was the perfect day for this picture, because it is really nice outside, and these shirts were flying on a day when it was easy to forget all the bad in this world. The problem is, some people aren't able to forget.

I looked at this picture for maybe an hour before I uploaded it. I found it interesting how many different things it could be. Maybe it is a group of lights on a ship heading north off the coast of California. It could be a train tunnel in Europe with a high speed rail about to come through taking eager tourists to Italy.

In reality I am stuck in Iowa and the possibilities go down quite a bit, but that point is that looking at this pic I forgot that I was here... away from the boring nature that is me, from the desk which I sit at, and the place that no longer seems good enough.

I have been complaining lately that I am just being boring because I am pouting about what I can't have...but the truth is, I just need to go away from who I am and dream about what could be. Yes some of the good in my future, I would like to consist of what I once had, but making myself happy was never my intention was it? It's not that I don't care about myself, for truly I wish I were happier, but my joy comes from seeing other's happiness.

This photo was taken moments before a very light rain storm in Westminster district of London, England. I took both my father and mother to the top of this wheel. The sights from the top were stunning. The only thing better than the time with my dad at the top was the second time, with my mother, at sunset. Even though I had much more interesting experiences throughout my travels, this piece of engineering made for a very amazing half hour, filled with thought provoking sights, and flirting with the other passengers.... What? I am on vacation you know. ;)

Never can you pick a favorite when it comes to your own kids. However when it comes to brothers, you can hate all, love all, or pick-n-choose. Even though I hate to admit it, my youngest brother and I get along the best. Some of this is due to the fact that I act like his age.

I coudln't believe it when I told him to pose for a picture and he did. I love him tons, and won't ever forget the times I have spent fighting,cooperating, and ignoring any of my brothers.

(I really did read him his book though)

The church I am a part of back home made bread for the congregation. The procceeds went to the local food pantry, however money was the not the only thing that we got out of this. I caught up with a few friends here, making some of the last memories before we all went out separate ways. My brothers got in trouble throwing the dough like they normally do and not once did I care.
I actually made my own bread not long after this picture was taken and it turned out pretty well. So not only did I spend time with friends and make dough for the needy, I learned how to...watch yeast bubble. :D

I didn't notice this view until there was five minutes left in the year 2012. When I finally did however, I found myself smiling enormously. I couldn't believe that no one else was looking at this amazing looming building behind us. I understand alll the people present lived there but still. I had an amazing Time in Rome and this picture sums up this time.

Spanish Steps

My mother and I spent our last evening in Rome on the spanish steps. The steps are known for there amazing views of the sunset but after the sun set, the lights down the street opposite the steps stood out as picture perfect quality.

Westminster Abbey's Backside

After traveling through the uncapturable Abbey, I found myself taking lots of pictures on my exit walk. This photo was supposed to be just for my personal album, but the almost eerie backside of the Abbey was pretty sweet.

This picture was one of the few I actually set up. I ususally wait a moment to present itself.

I never let anyone take my pictures for me. If I am going to put something out there that is mine that I want to be the one to do all the work.

The willow tree and cloud cover gave for perfect lighting. The Swiss Alps across from me, over Lake Geneva, absolutely needed to be photgraphed. This Lake was my favorite in terms of how I felt after I got home. While I was there, at the lake, I just thought it was cool. However now, looking back, the scerenity and purity of the water and atmosphere surrounding the lake calmed this tourist down and forced me to ponder many things on its banks.

My father and I were present during the taking of this picture. I absolutely loved having my father traveling with me. He was there to keep me on track, both with time, and money.
I hope to go back someday. The only thing stopping me is the fear of doing it alone...

A local group of college kids made a tower that stood well above the tree line. My father and I climbed to the top and got a pretty view of... fog. This picture turned out very mysteriously and I thought some would like a peak. ENJOY!

This is the beautiful Lake Geneva along with a willow tree, boat, and French Alps on the horizon. This was one of my most favorite shot to take. Panoramic shots are also cool to see come together on the computer.

You can be totally focused on one thing, doing one thing right or finishing one task, but you miss things. The key to the successful completion of a task or a happy ending is not focusing on one thing until you are sure that it is the most important and not figuring it out too late...

I like hot chocolate; I really do, but it isn't really the taste that gets me. I love, more than drinking hot chocolate, smelling it. I can't tell you how nice it is to take the cup out of the microwave and take in the aroma of pure "awesomeness" as my brother would put it.
