The metal walkway of the Passeo Inferior went right up to the foot of Salto Bossetti - a massive curtain of water with a cloud of spray at the bottom. The wind from the falls was more than sufficient to cool us down on a warm day.

A panorama including Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat) waterfall, Isla San Martin, the lower Rio Iguazu, and the full width of Salto San Martin on the right. This was one of the most amazing vistas of Iguazu Falls from the Paseo Inferior (lower pathway). This is the view shown on many of the postcards from Iguazu Falls.

We saw loads of butterflies / moths while walking around at Iguacu Falls. This one was outside of the Post Office on our way to the upper trail and the Devil's Throat Falls.

The Devil's Throat waterfall wraps all the way around in a half circle, including under the observation platform. On the close side the water seemed to be pouring from everywhere, even where there wasn't an obvious river. This is the second most amazing place I've ever been, the top few positions all being at Iguaçu Falls.

Stella at one of the view points overlooking Isla San Martin and Salto San Martin. The jungle and the falls were just amazing from this vantage point.

Every one of the smaller individual falls at Iguazu was amazing, worthy of a long hike just by itself. The Two Sisters falls were much smaller than many of the others, but gorgeous with the jungle surrounding them. Stella and I got a bit wet standing in front of Salto Bossetti just a few minutes before arriving at this part of the falls. It was a warm day, so a wet shirt was no problem.

The view from the Paseo Inferior up the Rio Iguazu towards the Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat) Falls. You can see a small metal walkway that extends to the rim of Salto Santa Maria, mostly obscured by mist in this photo. I hear that's a great place to propose to that someone special.

The sheer amount of moving water at Iguazu Falls is overwhelming. More fresh water passes over the falls in 1 day than the entire city of London uses in an entire year!

Chestnut-eared Aracari

Right outside the window from our hotel room! We thought it was a Toucan, but some looking around online revealed that it's a chestnut-eared Aracari. Where are the ears?

There were huge lizards on the grounds around the hotel and, like this guy, along the trails in the park. One of them ate Stella.

Not from our room, but from the front lawn of the Hotel das Cataratas. In only got better as the harsh afternoon light subsided. We're standing in Brazil and looking at the Argentina side of the park.

Devils Throat / Garganta del Diablo

We walked a little ways up the trail from the hotel to the first view point. Devils Throat is made up of several falls, the largest of which is Union Falls, which is nearly the size of Niagara Falls by itself.

This is about as close as I got with my camera before we started getting pretty wet. In the background, from left to right, are Mbigua Falls, Barnabé Mendez Falls, Bosetti Falls, and Dos Hermanas Falls. We continued up river to the left towards Devil's Throat.

Three Musketeers Falls at Iguaçu Falls. The bottom 1/2 at least is lost in the mist. Water flow was very high while we were there, which was awesome.
