Okay. I'll admit it. Maybe I was a little too reactive to last month's Flickr changes. I've removed some of my recent protesty posts and have decided to lurk around for a while to see how things pan out. For now I'll be occupying both Flickr and ipernity, and splitting my time between the two sites. My ipernity profile is here:

With any luck Flickr will make some improvements to the new site over the coming months. I certainly hope we don't end up with YouTube-style ads appearing in our steams and popping up over our photographs (which probably would cause me to drop Flickr for good). Only time will tell.

BTW, if anyone feels a strong need to pick on me about my change of heart, go right ahead. I have thick enough skin! :-)

Okay, this is a ridiculous title. But the image has a few things in common with Iron Maidens, so I couldn't help myself.

Happy Friday everyone! I'm off tomorrow for a weekend in Ohio (visiting me mum on Mother's Day) followed by a meeting at the University of Michigan. Hopefully I'll return with a few pictures worth sharing.

This was taken last weekend during setup for Song of the Divine: Kirtan, a Musical Tradition of Western India, organized by my wife, Anna Schultz. The concert was a huge success, and completely sold out. Art by local Maharashtrian artists was displayed at the entrance to the concert hall.

Taken in the Mission District of San Francisco. I generally love shooting with a 35mm lens, but in this case I could have used a telephoto. Still, images from the RX1 crop pretty well, and it's nice to see some context. But for detail, please look at the larger version.
