Like waking up in a pool! In this New Orleans bedroom designed by Hal Williamson, walls are painted Woodlawn Blue by Benjamin Moore. Duvet and sham fabric is 'Guinevere Silk' in blue/aqua by Lee Jofa. Headboard from Kisabeth Furniture, upholstered in 'Ajmer' silk in jade from Libas Limited. Bench from Maison de Provence, upholstered in '180619H' in blue ice by Highland Court/Duralee. Chair upholstered in 'Silk Rib Stripe' in spa by Kravet. Mirrors from Sentimento Antiques.

I'm salivating: What a perfect balance between classic architectural details (egg-and-dart molding, wainscoting, that parquet floor) and modern touches (the X dining table, benches, and colorful wing chair; that over-sized pendant). The drapes and raffia Roman shades warm things up, too -- and those butter-colored walls are just lovely.

The living room of blogger Nicole Gibbons. She found the Robert Abbey genie gourd lamps at Lamps Plus, the end tables on craigslist, and the vintage brass and beveled glass coffee table on eBay. To soften the space, she added draperies, which she customized with Greek key trim from Calico Corners. Above the sofa is a Jenny Gage and Tom Betterton photo which she bought at Design on a Dime.

The master bedroom of interior designer Jeff Andrews’ 1920s L.A. home. Walls are painted Mouse’s Back by Farrow & Ball. The room was dark, so he installed a new window scaled to the width of the bed and salvaged another from his kitchen remodel. Heavy Belgian linen curtains are a few shades darker than the wall; an area rug rests atop wall-to-wall sea grass.

A dreamy blue and white guest bedroom designed by Pappas Miron and featured in the 2008 Hamptons Cottages & Gardens Idea House.

Mohair rug by Sacco Carpet. Hammered metal bed; headboard upholstered in strie beige velvet. The Larsen fabric drapes were hung high -- on Lucite rods, no less! -- to emphasize the 18-foot pitched ceilings. Scalamandre ikat upholstery on wing chair. Wallcovering by Larsen.

Imagine this: you're 16. You live on the 22nd floor of a Chicago co-op. Your bedroom yields sweeping views of Lake Michigan and downtown. And your parents are rich, rich, rich!

The color scheme came from the daughter's choice of a Ralph Lauren striped duvet and paisley shams. The bed’s headboard is upholstered in orange velvet, walls are painted a high-gloss white, and twin ottomans with X-bases are white patent leather with orange trim.

The decor isn't my taste, but Hawthorne Yellow is a great pick from Benjamin Moore's Historic Colors line. And the blue and yellow is so cheery, no? Second-floor tower bedroom of a Connecticut mansion, designed by Jennifer Garrigues. Trim and ceiling are painted Cloud White, also by Benjamin Moore.

Design firm Uxus designed this lush, luxe bedroom as part of a beautiful house in the center of Amsterdam. The home sits on the Bloemgracht canal, in an 18th century warehouse that has a panoramic view over the city. This is the guest bedroom—can you imagine?

I love the combination of neutral fabrics, round and square shapes, and tailored upholstery in this beautiful small living room.

Soft blue + chocolate brown: 'Parma Gray' + 'Mahogany' by Farrow & Ball

Interior designer Scott Sanders: "Parma Gray is a soft, soothing blue that feels like the ocean and the sky — an unexpected choice in a library. It doesn't come across as baby blue because there's so much gray in it. I didn't want to paint the moldings the usual black or white but still needed a nice contrast, and came up with chocolate brown — like earth against the sky. It grounds the room and picks up the tones of the dark wood furniture."

Walls are painted Parma Gray and trim is Mahogany, both by Farrow & Ball.
