This emerald toucanet (also known as the blue-throated toucanet) and its mate were feeding right next to the lodge at Savegre. It was so close that aside from <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/fiznatty/8460315309/in/set-72157632734834508">shooting through the window</a>, my only option was to crouch at a steep angle a few feet away to get a shot.<br /> <br /> <b>I will be leading a new Costa Rica tour in 2014. We will be visiting Savegre, home of these toucanets and the resplendent quetzal during its nesting season, along with some great locations in the Pacific lowlands. The tour culminates in an optional extension to Corcovado National Park, the best place for wildlife in the entire country. This emerald toucanet (also known as the blue-throated toucanet) and its mate were feeding right next to the lodge at Savegre. It was so close that aside from <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/fiznatty/8460315309/in/set-72157632734834508">shooting through the window</a>, my only option was to crouch at a steep angle a few feet away to get a shot.<br /> <br /> <b>I will be leading a new Costa Rica tour in 2014. We will be visiting Savegre, home of these toucanets and the resplendent quetzal during its nesting season, along with some great locations in the Pacific lowlands. The tour culminates in an optional extension to Corcovado National Park, the best place for wildlife in the entire country.
