10 seconds between shots produced a bit jerky video. Going to try 5 second interval next time.

Inside of the channel on the last leg to finish line. We had a solid 4 minute lead over 2nd boat and focused on maintaining and increasing that gap.

We had a solid lead over the rest of the fleet and it was a time to let crew take it easy, while maintaining the lead. We kept an eye on nearest boat behind us and we were timing them as they passed channel markers to make sure we maintain our 4 minute lead.

After being in the lead and rounding the mark in the 1st place, I've made a mistake and initially went to the wrong channel entrance marker. By the time we realized our mistake 2 boats on the leeward side have passed us and we had to do our best to catch up to them. Rolling over the swell didn't help us and sometimes we were getting overpowered.

We caught up to those guys at the channel entrance, managed to pass both of them and finished 1st with just a small lead.

Little salty spray will keep you awake.

Sometimes those guys on the rail get a little bit too comfortable, little splash of water gets their attention. Bay water also tastes like margarita. Well, kind of.

On the way to our mark we had some water come on deck. Vlad and Mike were hiking out and at some point I heard "We got fish!". I thought they were just messing with me, but no - one of them reached out and pulled out a tiny anchovy that wanted to go for a ride with us.

After tactical/navigational mistake that I've made we ended up in the 3rd place and we were catching up to the boats ahead of us. The end result was a 1st spot on the finish line. Going at 7 knots (~8 mph) doesn't seem like a lot in the photos, but it is a decent speed for this ~26-30 year old boat.

Won another race of Beercan Summer 2012 Series today and moved up to 1st place overall in Merit 25 Class. Our names are on the flag for past 2 weeks. Let's see if we can go for a trifecta next week.
