Elphie, Calavera, and Lexus finally united, after a long search for proper bodies for Elphie and Lexus. Starling, in the background, quietly plots their demise.

Elphie's head is originally Mattel's vintage-inspired Wicked Witch of the West, and sits atop a Disney Store Maleficent body. Calavera is a Dolls Ahoy custom Kayla head on a Fashionista Artsy body. Lexus (male) is an off-brand bobbleheaded boy doll head on a Monster High Scaris Deuce body. Starling is another Dolls Ahoy custom (previous an old Mattel Snow White), now on a Volks Beauty body.

Hello, World!

Yes, I *am* still alive--contrary to popular belief. My new jobs take up ALL of my time, so I seldom have the chance to take pics of my dolls. But it doesn't mean I haven't been buying a bunch of shit I don't need and sneaking in a few redress opportunities. Ha. It was my birthday on the 18th, so I've been treating myself to exxxtra dolly goodness for a few weeks now.

Pictured are my most recent thrifting finds. And all from the same haul. The shops in the city are usually doll deficient, but I managed to bring home some beauties last week!

I'm a low key Disney nut, nostalgic 80s/90s collector, and a hardcore, frothy-mouthed Baum and Maguire Wizard of Oz aficionado. Just sayin'.

Shout out to OddMod!

I'm not a hardcore vintage collector, much less mod, but over Winter Break I managed to find all these girls at a local Good Will.

The entire lot, collectively, costed only about $10. I'm in love with the two little gals with the poofy gowns, and I'm through the roof that I finally have a Kiddle (Red Riding Hood, as I have discovered) and a Tutti (well, Chris to be exact). And Ideal's Mitzi! *swoon*

They're all cleaner-uppers, but SQUEEEEEE!

So, like, it was totes my bday the other day (okay, fine, like a month ago). Some of my besties gathered to surprise me for the big 3-0, and I was treated to, in addition to Scotch, an amazing dinner out, the most gorgeous AND TASTY coconut cake evar, the most dolls I've ever received as gifts in one single occasion! I was basically shaking and crying when I opened S16 Frankie. It was all kinds of hilarious, Scotch in hand and everything.

Well, anyway, point of story, I'm into MH, and I totally need to quit. LOL (Note: I only got the dolls on the left for my bday, and I found everyone else in stores.)

I ran errands today, and surveyed my area's "toy" spots which included a CW Price, Big Lots, and a Unique Thrift Store (same place I found my PJ from the other day). I'm shit broke, so I don't go doll hunting at all, if ever, when I'm in Chicago. I found these though at Unique, all for more than half off.

This is the best haul I've ever pulled thrifting. I've ached for an original DOTW Italy, but could never stomach the eBay costs for one MIB. She's in wonderful condition for a nude doll too! Dolls Ahoy has been making me want a Kurhn for some time now, so as soon as I saw this cute poofy haired little thing, I just had to have her. And the horse! I've been looking for a 1/6 scaled, well-jointed horse for years and years, and now I finally have one! My thirst to bring home that one good haul is finally quenched.

I know I'm always begging your pardon for such poorly composed pics, and I must again ask for it. I haven't had a room of my own for over six months, so it's difficult to do anything in peace. Ever. Thanks so much for still paying my pictures attention. :)

I actually quite like her. It seems as if she has painted legs though. Bummer!

What is up with MGA continually creating new characters in the same likenesses of girls that already exist? Ugh. I think they're just trying to trademark every name imaginable so Mattel can't use 'em.

I whipped these up today and scanned them on the derpy scanner at the house. Please don't mind Maxine's wonk-wonk faces. The editing is bunk, but I just wanted to upload. I had fun doing something--well, fun!

I haven't decided on a name for her yet. After giving her the only spare, articulated body I had with a matching skintone, I can't quite figure out just what kind of personality she's developed. She's definitely more sassy than spunky now that she's a couple inches taller.

Liam was created with her in mind. And now they're finally reunited. BFF&E!

Her name is Hazel. She's a former model, and makes a living coaching new models. She's effervescent, but serious, and puts a lot of effort into her work. Some think she's a bit of an eccentric, sometimes even nonchalant or aloof, but its only because she lives in her head too much of the time. In her next life, she'd like to be something akin to the Hometree in the movie Avatar.

I've been pretty messed up in the head for the last few months. It seems I'm destined for something super amazing some day because the struggle to get where I want to be is nothing but ridiculous. But the Fight never ends.

This summer I found lots of nifty things in thrift stores, lots of vintage and new dolls alike. Today, on my last official Friday of summer, I found this Live Action PJ at a store for 99c.

Her hair and lashes are uncut and in great condition. Her make-up, hands and limbs are immaculate, and she even has her little gold booties. She's only missing her vest and she needs a little cleaning, but she's a cutie pie.

A close-up from The Disney Store's website of the upcoming limited edition 17" Queen of Hearts doll.

She's a pretty doll, and somewhat affordable for a numbered collector doll. She's a big girl so I will not be buying here. But I'll definitely be recreating her face in 1/6 with a Monsieur Z head. Those brows and heart-shaped lips are adorbs, and the flying lashes are DTF!

I'm summering in the Northwest. In addition to picking through my dolly things, I started interval training this week, and I can't move a fucking muscle. But I allowed myself a night out with my two lovelies Paula and Jess. This is a pic of Jess and me at Hollyhood last Friday.

My cheapo memory card reader stopped reading my Compact Flash cards. ARGH!!!! No new 'good' pics for the time being. Thankfully my phone has a decent camera. But the pictures are kinda caca once uploaded to a computer. *shrugs*
