Broken wings...

I took a series of shots this afternoon in the Wings of Fancy Exhibit at Brookside Garden in Wheaton Maryland in my first visit this year after my cataract surgery 5 months ago. Hopefully I have not lost that touch in my photography especially on butterflies.

After almost a year of absence, I am trying to come back slowly. I got a right eye problem that leads to a cataract surgery on the early part of this year. 13 years ago, I had an operation on my left eye.

I have not taken much photos since then so I will be posting photos from my archives and be popping in and out here in Flickr once in awhile. I wish to thank all my friends for the supports and visits to my stream and for those who had been worried for my long absence. I missed you all a lot and you are the reason for my come back, although things will never be the same again. How I wished I could visit your fabulous streams again for inspiration.

Chosen to pay tribute to the wonderful women honored during Oprah's 'Legends' weekend! Immense petals (just one can cover a child's palm) slowly spiral open to form classic hybrid tea blooms that are absolute WHOPPERS of eye-popping ruby red! The full, ruffled flowers are often as large as 8 inches in diameter.

Proportionately large lettuce-like leaves of an unusual red-green color gracefully enrobe the long cutting stems. Just as it takes only one 'Legend' rose to fill a vase, it takes only one 'Legend' woman to make a difference!
