Another Pub gone....Danny Baker used to live around the corner and his old estate has just been demolished as well...

London`s Burning location`1988-2010

Top frame from series 1 of London`s burning,itv`s drama about firefighters,and bottom now 2010 dockhead and not blackwall...the Fire Station dates from 1928 and has three appliance bays although only one fire engine is based at the station at present.and is up for demolition..and where did that tree come from??the pub `the ship aground`can be seen to the far right..`swan and sugar loaf` pub on left just out of site is now flats...

Giles House on the Dickens Estate SE16,built in the thirties Jade Goody lived here a few years back in Peter Butler House...

Another Pub gone...A local said last year....and i quote.....``this desgusting pub should be shut down. its making the children in the park across the road scared, and another reason for the shutdown of this pub is violence. the custumers once set a truck on fire``

Dr Salters Cat`Bermondsey

Dr Alfred Salter was a local philanthropist in the district of Rotherhithe and Bermondsey, which was one of the poorest and least healthy parts of the city early in the twentieth century....this is one of 3 statues heres the cat his daughter is close by and died aged 8 of scarlet fever and these remember happier times..

The Angel in Rotherhithe/Bermondsey is one of the oldest public houses in Southwark, and has been recorded on its current site, with the same name, since at least the 15th century, built by the monks of Bermondsey Priory. From here you could literally touch the Thames, and it's a great place to watch the boats and admire the unrivalled view back down towards Tower Bridge, City Hall and the centre of London.
