I was lucky to get this shot of Paralympic GB swimmer Ellie Simmonds, she was the opposite side of the Victory Parade float to me, I managed to shoot through a gap. No sign of her two Gold, one Silver and one Bronze medals she won in the pool so she's obviously very modest with it......

From Wikipedia : "At the age of 13, Simmonds was the youngest British athlete at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, competing in the 50m, 100m and 400m freestyle, 50m butterfly, and 200m Individual Medley. She won gold medals in the 100m and 400m freestyle events.

On 1 September 2012, Simmonds repeated her Gold performance to win the 400m freestyle at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, in which she took five seconds off the World Record time. Two days later, on the evening of 3rd September, she took Gold in the 200m Individual Medley, breaking the World Record that she had set in the qualifying round that morning."

One of the first Gold medals for the London 2012 Paralympics GB Team, Jonathan Fox set a new World Record for the S7 100m Backstroke in his qualifying heat.

From Wikipedia : "Fox was selected to compete for Great Britain at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in the 50 metre freestyle, 100 metre freestyle, 400 metre freestyle and 100 metre backstroke events in the S7 classification. In the heats of the 100 m backstroke he broke his own world record, setting a time of one minute 9.86 seconds to qualify fastest for the final. He went on to win the final in a time of one minute 10.46 seconds to take Great Britain's first swimming gold medal at the Games."
